Making Technology Sticky: The Importance of Long-Term Planning 

The technology landscape has fundamentally shifted in the past few years for schools throughout the world. In this discussion we will be going over the key elements that are required to make an impactful, successful, and real 3-5 year technology plan. From communication, budgets, repair processes, and more you will leave with incredibly powerful insight on the planning process and best practices from successful districts from all over the United States.

      

Join Scott Jonard, Teaching and Learning Consultant at Trafera, for this important and informative look at how best to utilize information in your technology plan. lessons.  Attendees will learn how to understand the key elements of a successful technology plan for lifecycle planning, develop a realistic budget for a technology plan for lifecycle planning, and set up a system for repairing and maintaining technology devices for lifecycle planning.  We will also share best practices from successful districts for lifecycle planning and how to identify emerging technologies that will have an impact on education for lifecycle planning. Finally, we'll discuss the role of technology in personalized learning for lifecycle planning and discuss the impact of technology on equity for lifecycle planning.

Scott Jonard

Scott Jonard has been an educator for over 15 years.  He has had the privilege of working as a Special Education teacher, Technology Coordinator, Principal, and Director of Technology.  Throughout his career, Scott has also led hundreds of workshops around technology integration focusing on creating sustainable and highly impactful Educational Technology Environments.  Scott also hosts a podcast with his wife, a school counselor, that focuses on digital citizenship for families called Educational Mountains.  Scott is passionate about ensuring that technology is used to enhance not only the educational environment for students but also increase equity, resilience, and the joy of teaching.  Recently Scott transitioned to be a Teaching and Learning Consultant for Trafera where he gets the privilege of working with districts all over the country on Long-term planning, Technology Implementation, and creating highly impactful instructional Technology environments.
