Mastering Your Learning Journey:

How Standards Shape Your Learning Experience

Ever wondered how standards - new and old - can guide your students' learning experiences? If you are curious about how to craft a personalized educational path, Nicole Conjuangco, Computer Science Teacher, The Urban Assembly Maker Academy is sharing the best practices from their computer science classroom, and how they approached receiving new standards at the beginning of the school year. In this webinar, we will reveal how standards shape the learning experience and the practical strategies that can help every student achieve mastery.

Nicole Cojuangco

Nicole Cojuangco was born, raised, and educated in New York. After earning a biochem degree, she serendipitously fell into teaching and after almost a decade as a science educator, she helped to open EPICSouth, a high school grounded in social justice and leadership. It was here that she began to think more radically and collaboratively about how to better support all the beautiful minds in a broken system. The lack of computer science exposure to historically marginalized groups was a clear source of inequity and a major obstacle to innovative solutions that schools clearly needed. She shifted her focus to CS education and earned an Advanced Certificate in CS at CUNY Hunter.Currently, she is a CTE teacher at UA Maker Academy, where her passions for science, creativity, technology, and problem solving are thankfully things that she can bring to the table when serving our youth while empowering them to design and create their own futures.
